ApacheCon US, November 4-6, Oakland, California
The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) called the ApacheCon conference in Oakland November 2-6. The foundation behind the free webserver is also celebrating its tenth birthday. Techcast is telecasting the three-day conference for free on the Internet for Linux Pro Magazine.
ApacheCon awaits worldwide participants to the five-day conference, among them foundation members, developers, users and companies. The program naturally surrounds the popular Apache HTTP Server and promises exciting content and many additional topics.
For Wednesday, November 4 the Apache Foundation set up the Hadoop track for live streaming. Among the speakers for the open source Java framework are Apache cofounder Brian Behlendorf and developers Owen O'Malley and Tim White. Alan Gates speaks on the subject “Becoming a Pig Developer,” appealing for membership.
Thursday, November 5 is a day for talks from the HTTP track. Thawte coworker Rick Andrews and security expert Sander Temme report on the current stages of development. In the evening, the so-called “Lighting Talks” will be telecast.
Sander Temme ends the program on Friday, November 6 with a talk on the subject of real-time searches. The theme for the day is “Lucence” with further talks by Ted Dunning, Isabel Drost and Sithu D. Sudarsan.
The complete program of live streams is on the Linux Pro Magazine webpage, with the ApacheCon being telecast the following week.
